The Guild of American Luthiers is a nonprofit educational membership organization. Guild membership is open to everyone. Members support and sustain the Guild through their annual membership dues, currently $60 in the USA, and $72 everywhere else. Membership dues are paid on a calendar-year basis, i.e., 2018, 2019, and so on. Members receive all the issues of American Lutherie for the year they join, no matter what time of year they join, and all memberships expire on Dec. 31 of that year.

The main benefit of membership is one year of our quarterly publication American Lutherie (starting in 2018, three regular issues in the spring, summer and winter; and one double anthology issue in the fall). Members also receive a membership certificate and discounts on GAL publications and advertising.

Also, be sure to file a mail forwarding order with your post office, so they'll forward your American Lutherie if it's already in the mail. Have a new email address? Please send it to us so we can send renewal and other notices by email. We strictly limit the number of emails we send and do not share email addresses. It saves the Guild lots of dough if we can remind you to renew or share other news by email! Gift Membership instructions:
PayPal has deleted “Instructions to Merchant” from their form, so if you are purchasing a gift membership (or want your order shipped to a different address) please do the following:

When filling out the order form, put your name in the credit card information and your address as the “billing address.” But then make sure to UNCHECK the box that says, “Ship to my billing address.” That will make a separate shipping address section appear. Put the gift recipient’s name and address in the “shipping address” section. Do this even if the addresses are the same so you can put in the recipient’s name in that section.

If you’d like us to send a gift card to your recipient, please send an email requesting that to: kurt“at”luth.org (use @ in place of “at”). Let us know your name, the member’s name, and if you want the card sent to you or directly to them.
